Simba – 5-yr old Male Gray Tabby Cat for Rehoming in Arlington, WA, $100

Age: 5 years old
Estimated DOB: September 8, 2020

Special Home Needed

Simba has been a wonderful companion for years and is affectionate, playful, and loving. After his family recently moved to a new home, he began experiencing anxiety related to the change in environment. His family has worked closely to help him adjust by adding additional litter boxes, changing his diet, using calming collars, pheromone diffusers, calming treats and supplements. These changes have helped, but he still has occasional accidents outside the litter box while adjusting to the new home.

He has previously been diagnosed with feline herpesvirus (FHV-1), which is extremely common in cats. He is currently healthy and has not experienced flare-ups or symptoms.

Because a new baby is arriving soon, his family feels he deserves a quieter environment where he can settle in and feel secure.

He may do best with someone who:

  • has experience with shy or anxious cats
  • can provide a calm, predictable routine
  • is willing to continue working with stress reduction techniques
  • understands that environmental changes can temporarily affect litter box habits

His family truly believes he can thrive in the right home.

Whisker Foundation Note: Based on the information provided, this behavior appears to have started after a significant environmental change. Many cats experience temporary stress-related litter box issues following a move. We encourage potential adopters to discuss this history with the owner so they fully understand his needs and can determine if he would be a good fit for their home.

Important: This cat is being rehomed directly by its owner and is listed on the Whisker Foundation website to help increase visibility and find a suitable home. Whisker Foundation is not caring for this cat and cannot answer questions about its history, health, behavior, availability, adoption fee, or rehoming requirements. All questions, inquiries, meet-and-greets, and rehoming arrangements must be made directly with the owner.
